When learning math, sometimes less is more.
There is no point in pushing students through math units without mastering basic skills. For example, it will be much more useful for them in college and life to master quadratic functions ＆ linear equations (algebra I), than having 'covered' algebra I, algebra II, and calculus superficially. Deeply grasping fewer key concepts is more important than learning many things superficially.
